Kingston, NH was once known as "Carriage Towne" which explains why several local businesses use the name. The museum houses a collection of four buildings, including the old fire house, and the old cobbler shop. There are examples of carriages and a horse-drawn hearse. Each Fall the Indian Festival includes a parade of floats created by each class to represent the Indian tribe that they studied.  Kingston's lakes and ponds have led to the development of the 44 acre Kingston Park and two "Y" day camps. Boat launching is available on Great Pond and a beach is available to residents on Greenwood Lake. Rock Rimmon State Forest provides hiking trails.

Commuters and tourists alike enjoy the Pond View Restaurant on Hwy 125 and the Kingston 1686 House on Route 111. Founded in 1764, Kingston has retained its spirit of community. The seniors' program attracts more than 50 each Monday. Family activities include the Easter egg hunt, Christmas tree lighting, hayrides, bingo and craft workshops. The Lions Club hosts and annual Cow Patty Land Rush with the winner being the one who's cow patty travels the greatest distance. Kinston was the home of Josiah Barlett, the second to sign the Declaration of Independence and NH's first governor.
