Greenland, NH

Greenland, NH was a busy town prior to the opening of Route 1. Among the people who traveled through Greenland were George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette and Francois Jean Chastellus who remarked on the well-built houses, the fertile and beautiful land. Chastellus said, "This country represents, in every respect, the picture of abundance and happiness." Greenland has grown and changed some over the years, but it remains as Chastellus's described. Located next to Portsmouth, Greenland has all the benefits of a city making it one of the areas most desirable locations to raise a family.
